Grayson Brazik (14-18 year-old – Gold Medalist -Agriculture Science) Violetta Baillon (11-13 year-old – Gold Medalist – Foods & Nutrition)

New Hanover County 4-H’ers Bring Home GOLD!

Grayson Brazik and Violetta Baillon represented New Hanover County 4-H at the NC 4-H State Presentation Finals on Saturday, July 16th on the campus of NC State University. Four-H members from across North Carolina ages 8-18 participated in their respective age divisions and categories for a chance to be named NC 4-H State Gold Medalists.

Grayson claimed gold in the 14-18 year-old division in Agriculture Science category. He will receive a $50 monetary award in addition to his gold medal. Grayson is the son of Drs. David and Emily Brazik of Castle Hayne. Grayson is a member of the
4-H Teen Leaders club and serves as vice-president.

Violetta achieved gold in the 11-13 year-old division in Foods & Nutrition category. She will receive a $75 monetary award in addition to her gold medal. Violetta is the daughter of Dietrich Blum and Kate Baillon of Wilmington. Violetta is a member of the 4-H Envirothon Club and 4-H Rabbit Club.

New Hanover County 4-H’ers must participate in 4-H presentations on the county and district level in order to attend NC 4-H State Finals at NC 4-H Congress. Winners from district competition advance to state-level presentations.
