4-H Youth Development

About NHC 4-H

As the leading youth development program in America, 4-H empowers children and teens ages 5 to 18 to build essential skills, confidence, and leadership. Our "learn by doing" approach ensures that every program is engaging, hands-on, and grounded in real-world experience.

The four H’s—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health—form the foundation of everything we do. By guiding youth to strive for excellence across these four pillars, we help them master vital life skills in education, community service, and personal wellness, preparing them to lead with purpose.

A Space for Everyone

This mission comes to life through local 4-H clubs and school enrichment programs, which offer a powerful foundation for youth to gain essential skills through consistent, hands-on involvement. Whether participating in a community-based club or engaging through in-school activities, young people dive into diverse topics like science, agriculture, and civic engagement. Led by dedicated mentors, these programs are designed to fit various schedules and interests, ensuring every student has a clear pathway to growth.
