Four New Hanover County 4-H youth recently participated in the 2022 NC 4-H State Horse Show in Raleigh. The event welcomes entries from all over North Carolina in categories from Showmanship and Trail, to Equitation and Hunter Jumper.

 
Congratulations to Quinn B., Anna C., Sailor M., and Lainey R. for their success at the state show.
 
Quinn received the following in each discipline:
Hunter-Type Mares in Hand – 1st place
Short Stirrup Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences – 1st place
Short Stirrup Working Hunter Over Fences – 1st place
Short Stirrup Hunter Under Saddle – 1st place
Short Stirrup Hunter Hack – 2nd place
Hunter-Type Gelding in Hand – 4th place
Short Stirrup Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat – 4th place
 
Quinn placed 3rd overall in the NC State 4-H Horse Show High Point Standings
 
Sailor received the following in each discipline:
Rookie Hunter W/T Hunter Hack (Cross Rails) – 1st place
Rookie Hunter W/T Equitation on the Flat – 3rd place
Rookie Hunter W/T Hunter Under Saddle – 6th place
 
Sailor placed 3rd overall in the Rookie Hunter W/T Division
 
Anna received the following in each discipline:
Rookie Hunter W/T Equitation on the Flat – 9th place
 
Lainey received the following in each discipline:
Hunter-Type Gelding in Hand – 4th place
 
These 4-H’ers are members of the NHC 4-H Horse Club which is led by Mrs. Jill, Mrs. Emily, Mrs. Jess, and Mrs. Beth.
