4-H School Enrichment Programs

New Hanover County 4-H partners with local schools to deliver engaging, research-based enrichment programs designed to bring learning to life. Our school-based 4-H programs are fun, educational, and hands-on — perfect for the classroom.

Our Enrichment Programs Include:

  • Embryology School Enrichment Program
    Watch the magic of life unfold as students learn about the development of chicks, from egg to hatchling.

    Dive into the science of soil health, composition, and the role soil plays in our everyday lives.

    Explore renewable energy and engineering as students build and test their own wind-powered devices.

Through these programs, students gain practical knowledge in science, agriculture, and environmental stewardship—all while having fun and learning together.

Environmental Field Day

4-H partners with schools throughout New Hanover County to bring plant education to our youth through interactive learning.

County Activity Day: Public Speaking Skills

County Activity Day is one of the highlights of the 4-H calendar. Youth from across New Hanover County participate in 4-H Presentations, sharpening their public speaking and communication skills—valuable tools that last a lifetime.
