AUDIENCE

The Chatham Green Industry and Landscape Conference provides continuing education and re-certification credits for green industry professionals, including landscapers, grounds and turf managers, and greenhouse and nursery producers. Home gardeners, HOA grounds managers, and anyone interested in these topics are also welcome to attend.

Update on Oxydiazon/Ronstar RUP Status; what golf course superintendents need to know. Update on the new Certification and Training Rules; what to know for non-certified applicators and their supervisors. Followed by a talk on Licensed Applicator Responsibilities, which will include: how to identify and wear appropriate PPE, drift management, transport and storage of pesticides, labeling, maintaining the appropriate license/certification, supervision of uncertified applicators, spill response and container disposal, and case studies.

NC State Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Chatham County

Join the EMG Volunteers of Chatham County for a workshop on how to reduce the risk of fires in your landscape. These EMG volunteers were part of a six-week training from the University of Georgia and NC State Extension on firewise landscaping, and now they are here to share this information with you! They’ll cover fire history and behaviour, plant flammability, plant selection, and home wildfire risk assessment.
