Amy Lucas, Alleghany 4-H Youth Development Agent with N.C. Cooperative Extension was recently recognized for her achievements during the 2023 North Carolina Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals Annual Conference on September 8th, 2023. 

She received the Dalton Proctor Achievement in Excellence award. The Alleghany County 4-H program grows and adapts to meet the needs of local youth by providing a variety of program delivery modes including school enrichment, field days, and special interest programming. By programming cross-discipline and holding a variety of positions, Amy continues to see the true reach of 4-H and Extension. 

In addition, Amy also received her Meritorious Service Award which recognizes current NCAE4-HYDP members with 15 or more years of experience that have achieved accomplishments in the 4-H profession.

The purpose of the North Carolina Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals is to promote the profession of Extension 4-H and youth work in North Carolina. The 4-H program is the youth education program of North Carolina Cooperative Extension, based at North Carolina State and North Carolina A&T State Universities.
