NEW HANOVER COUNTY – N.C. Cooperative Extension, New Hanover County Center, will host a Pesticide Safety School on May 12–13, 2026. The school will be held at 6206 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
The spring 2026 Pesticide Safety Schools are designed for individuals seeking initial licensing in one or more pesticide subcategories. Whether you work in agriculture, landscaping, pest control, or other fields requiring pesticide application, this two-day training provides the foundational knowledge needed to obtain your license.

Preparing for the Class
To prepare for the class and exams, participants are strongly encouraged to pre-order their pesticide manuals well in advance by visiting the Pesticide Safety Education page. Please allow 7–10 business days for manuals to arrive and read them before attending the school. Exam Information
Exams are administered on day two of the Pesticide Safety School by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) from 1:00–5:00 p.m. The exam session is available to all Pesticide Safety School registrants.
A few days before the school, registrants will receive an email containing the exam registration link and a special code needed to register for exams. Exam fees are separate from the school registration and must be paid to the NCDA&CS Pesticide Inspector at the exam location by check or money order.
