New Hanover County 4-H’s Envirothon Club competed in the Coastal Envirothon on March 15 at Weyerhauser’s Cool Springs Environmental Education Center.

Team members Violetta Baillon, Alexis Wright, and Brianna Northern were evaluated on their performance in five testing areas: soils, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and current environmental issues. Team coach/4-H Club Leader is Amy Refranz.

They were a top-scoring team  and qualified for the State Envirothon in Burlington, NC at the end of April.
