It is that time of year for 4-H Re-Enrollment and Re-Charter process. Charter paperwork are due to the New Hanover County 4-H Office by Monday, 3 February 2020. I will be happy to help you complete your re-charters. Contact me to schedule a time and where we can meet to review and to sign the forms. Remember: to re-charter for 2020, 4-H club leaders are to have attended two (2) New Hanover County 4-H Trainings/Workshops to be eligible. Click on 4-H Club Charter & Finance Information to download forms.
4-H clubs are required to have a minimum of six (6) 4-H club members enrolled as part of maintaining the 4-H Club Charter. Please encourage your 4-H families to complete the 4-HOnline Enrollment process to register their youth. 4-H members cannot register for an event until their enrollment has been accepted and their status is set to active.
4-H clubs must be rechartered (submitted paperwork) for 2020 to be recognized as an "active" 4-H club in North Carolina by Monday, 3 February 2020.
4-H clubs who are part of the NC 4-H/NC State EIN Checking Account agreement, an audit must be completed before 4-H clubs are recognized as an "active" 4-H club. Also, remember to file your 4-H club's 990 with the IRS. Failure to file, will result in losing your EIN status and checking account.
4-H clubs who are part of the NC 4-H/NC State EIN Checking Account agreement AND not rechartering for 2020, must have an audit on your checking account AND file your 4-H club's 990 with the IRS.
