Everyday hunger disrupts the lives of 1 in 5 children in North Carolina. Between March and June 2020, roughly 4 out of 10 people visited food banks that had never received food assistance before the pandemic.
As a way to make a difference, join New Hanover County 4-H with our 4-H Food Drive Caring Hearts, Helping Hands service project to provide assistance to families throughout central and eastern North Carolina.
– Every day hunger disrupts the lives of 1 in 5 children in North Carolina.
– More than 756,000 residents across central and eastern North Carolina go hungry everyday.
– In 2020, over 76 million meals were distributed to residents across the thirty-four counties, which comprise the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina regions.
– Between March and June 2020, roughly 4 out of 10 people visited food banks that had never received food assistance before the pandemic.
There Are TWO WAYS of GIVING:
1.) Online cash donations are also available. MAKE A DONATION!
For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide FIVE meals.
As an added bonus, every person making a cash donation over $100 directly to the
Food Bank will receive a free family membership ($50 value) to the Friends of the New Hanover County Arboretum.
2.) Donating the following:
Non-perishable foods; hygiene items; household items; paper products; infant & kid items.
