On Sept 2-3, New Hanover County Cooperative Extension hosted fifty-six people attending school to receive training in the safe and effective use of pesticides. The occupations of those attending included farmers, landscapers, retention pond managers, and pet groomers. In the afternoon of the second day, participants took the State of North Carolina Pesticide Exam. Only those that pass the exam can use pesticides for professional purposes.
NC Cooperative Extension is based at North Carolina's two land-grant institutions, NC State University and NC A&T State University, in all 100 counties and on the Cherokee Reservation.
